St. Isidore Parish Pastoral Council

September 8, 2005

Minutes:            Minutes had not been written of the brief June 9th meeting. It was briefly reviewed.

Update from the pastor

Distributed.

Council elections

            Presently there are five or six potential candidates. The final pulling together of the slate with profiles and pictures is challenging. We hope to have the slate announced September 17/18 with the election the following week.

Moving forward

The major agenda for the coming year seems to be regrouping and welcoming everyone.

A year and a half ago we had started to work on a welcoming committee; after the new council gets together we will bring up the topic on how to approach this.

The problem of one-on-one contact with new people was discussed. House to house visitation in Stow is not as typical as in urban areas.

At the September 18th Mass – an invitation to which a saturation mailing was sent to all the town – we will get a picture of the effectiveness of such mailings.
