Members Present: Fr. Dave, Deacon Charlie Cornell, Nancy Buck, Charley Corley, Jennifer Cunningham, Dave Goulet, Marcia Melone, Brian Perreault, Bill Sullivan

Members Absent: Deacon Bob Brady, Jason Crotty, Sue Ormand, Cara Schomp, Jack Waldie

PFC Liaison: Rosario Rizzo (present)

  1. Approval of minutes from 9/11/08 meeting

  1. Mission statement

NOTE: We spent most of the meeting reviewing/modifying the mission statement. Some general discussion items are included in the minutes, but the specifics of the mission statement draft are not included.

    1. Review and adoption.

      1. PFC wondering where the mission statement is?

      2. Mission statement should be something for all councils, parishioners to work from

      3. Needs to be something “measurable” for PFC to use as guidance

      4. Don’t make statement too vague

      5. All about introducing people to Christ, everything else flows from that

      6. Copy of Dreams and Visions to be distributed to PPC/PFC members who don’t already have one

      2. Collection takes place 3rd weekend of Nov. (15th/16th)

      3. PFC will provide guidance for the statement

      4. Volunteers to speak: Marcia Melone, Nancy Buck, Dave Goulet

      5. Might need someone from PPC/PFC to do the 5PM?

      1. Ran parish picnic during September

      2. Ice cream social Jan/Feb timeframe

      3. Game night?

      4. St. Patrick’s Day

    1. Building and Grounds

      1. New pH filter into well system ($3K)

      2. Too much copper in water

      3. Someone will check on it regularly

      4. Pride Mechanical retained for heating fixes

        1. 2 new boiler guns, hot water tank, control system

        2. deposit = $3K, total cost = $12K

        3. Trying to reduce price

        4. Working w/Bob Norton to lower cost

      5. PFC had idea for people to sponsor specific projects

        1. New sign

        2. New lawn mower

        3. New downspouts

        4. Faith formation

      1. Last minute bailout of new caterer

      2. Able to retain previous caterer

      3. Keeping better track of meal funds coming in

      4. Coming soon – allowing people to charge meals ahead of time when registering

      5. Incorporating Pauline year into GoF

      6. Bring back the bag

      7. 2 year confirmation program instead of previous 1 year

        1. 33 kids participating

      8. Trying to increase number of participants. Had less than 300 (~240) for the September session.

    1. Stewardship

      1. Currently struggling, lost about half their members.

      2. Charlie Cornell will suggest to that the committee disband temporarily and restart next year.

      3. Responsible for ministry fair. Who will run it if committee disbanded?
