Parish Pastoral Council Meeting Minutes
November 12, 2009

Members present: Fr. Dave, Deacon Charlie Cornell, Nancy Buck, Charlie Corley, Marcia Melone, Brian Perrault, Sandy Morales

Members absent: Deacon Bob Brady

Also present: Rosario Rizzo (finance committee)

1. Opened with evening prayer
2. Approval of minutes
3. Minutes are normally available on the website
4. Jennifer Cunningham has resigned from the council.
5. Social Committee follow up
   1.   Discussions on Al’s presentation last meeting
      1. Parish picnic will be moved to June in hopes of better weather
      2.   Those that attended had fun and Judy did a god job storytelling
      3.   Italian night had more attendance this year
      4. We discussed placing future events in the Social Group section of the Stow Independent and Sandy can work with Al on this.
6. General Discussion
   1. Charlie feels that we need better insight on what the other committees are doing so that we can coordinate and help as appropriate
      1. We should invite committee heads to our meetings to present their activities and plans
         1. Invite Nancy Dome to next meeting to discuss GOF
      2. This could be our focus for this year
         1. Remember that we are an advisory committee and not an action committee
   2. Outreach to parishioners
      1. We discussed expanding the Christmas and Easter bulletins to include a calendar of coming events for parishioners who attend Mass less frequently
7. Finance discussion
   1. Grand Annual letter has been sent and finance committee has spoken at Masses.
   2. Discussed adding the cumulative budget shortfall to the bulletin to increase awareness of the situation.
8. No meeting on December 9 – Advent Penance Service.
   1. Small group will gather after to plan/ layout the calendar for the Bulletin.
   2. Next meeting Jan 14, 2010.
