Parish Pastoral Council Meeting Minutes St. Isidore Parish February 11, 2010 Members present: Fr. Dave, Deacon Charlie Cornell, Nancy Buck, Charlie Corley, Marcia Melone, Brian Perrault, Sandy Morales, Jason Crotty Members absent: Deacon Bob Brady Also present: Rosario Rizzo (finance committee), Nancy Dome (Director, Religious Education) 1. Opened with evening prayer 2. Approval of minutes a. Minutes are normally available on the website 3. Generations of Faith – Nancy Dome a. 6th year of GOF b. Preparation of Year 7 underway i. Expanding program from GOF core as that was 6 year curriculum 1. When started GOF was the only family faith formation but now there are others to choose from ii. Scripture focused program iii. Each family will get new Bible instead of home kit at each session 1. Home kit budget is $5/family/session so this is consistent iv. Having ‘Coffee and Conversation’ on March 11 to get input c. Measurable results i. Post-Confirmation group is expanding- 9 kids ii. A few families have come back d. Undercurrents of dissatisfaction i. Families not comfortable with level of involvement ii. Challenge of interactive activities especially for younger kids iii. Not teaching kids prayers e. Confirmation is a 2 year program i. Attend GOF plus 8 other classes f. First Eucharist – one year program i. Retreats and parent meetings 4. Post-Confirmation Group- Jason Crotty a. Loosely tied to the GOF program but lets them discuss the issues that are on their minds 5. Misgivings concert was attended by 62 people and everyone had a good time. 6. Finance discussion a.
