Parish Pastoral Council Meeting Minutes

March 11, 2010

Members present: Deacon Charlie Cornell, Deacon Bob Brady ,Nancy Buck, Charlie Corley, Marcia Melone, Brian Perrault, Sandy Morales

Members absent: Fr. Dave, Jason Crotty

Also present: Rosario Rizzo (finance committee)

1.       Opened with evening prayer

2.       Approval of minutes

a.       Minutes are normally available on the website

3.       Child Abuse and Protection Team

a.       Noelle Aylward was not able to attend due to family commitments; will try to reschedule for April

b.      Charlie provided some background:

                                                               i.      Eliminate the secrecy

                                                             ii.      Annual CORI by settlement

                                                            iii.      First Eucharist parents get the VIRTUS training

                                                           iv.      Archdiocese reorganization 

4.       Scheduled the movie “Scenes from a Parish” and Stations of the Cross for March 26.

5.       Finance discussion

a.       Not making the $4900 in the weekly connection that we need as a base level

b.      Budget is okay but that is because all expenses are cut back

                                                               i.      GOF doesn’t have budget for outside speakers

                                                             ii.      2 of the music ministries are volunteer

                                                            iii.      Repair projects were a big help

c.       Cardinal’s appeal and school fund will now be automatically withdrawn at the level the diocese selects

d.      Committee will be meeting in a couple of weeks.

6.       It’s time to recruit new PPC members

a.       Charlie, Marcia and Brian are on the last year.

7.       Next meeting April 8.
