Parish Pastoral Council Meeting Minutes

April 8, 2010

Members present: Fr. Dave, Deacon Charlie Cornell, Charlie Corley, Jason Crotty, Marcia Melone, Sandy Morales, Brian Perrault

Members absent: Deacon Bob Brady, Nancy Buck

Also present: Rosario Rizzo (finance committee) and Noelle Aylward (CAP Team)

1. Opened with evening prayer
2.   Secretary for meeting-Sandy Morales
3. CAP Team (Child Abuse Prevention)
   1. Noelle described their mission to protect children and elderly populations since 2002 by:
      1. Collection of annual CORI forms, which are required for all volunteers by State Attorney General and Archdiocese.
      2. Running Protecting All God’s Children (VIRTUS) training for all volunteers, which is also required and only needs to be completed once.
      3.   Managing New Volunteer application process
   2. Noelle mentioned the need for ALL volunteers to complete the above items or their ability to volunteer at the parish is in jeopardy. Father Dave will contact those who have not completed the CORI forms or the VIRTUS Training.
   3. Primary School Program, Keeping Children Safe, for K-5 is also a part of the CAP Team mission. The parish is hiring someone to run this program.
   4. The CAP team is also an independent reporting body that resides outside the jurisdiction of the parish
4. Social Committee
   1. Irish Night had 103 people and was a great success
   2. Parish Picnic will occur in June
5. Finance Council report
   1. Flat offertory
   2. Working on 2011 budget
   3. School assessment for Archdiocese will be taken directly out of checking account going forward.
6. The Council is looking for new members as 3 members have terms that are up. A message will run in the bulletin.
7. The next meeting is May 13, after the Ascension Mass at 8:15 pm until 9pm.
