Update from the pastor to parish pastoral council 11 November 2004

October count

                Each October we take a count of Mass attendance.  The average of the best three weeks a year ago was 499.  The average of the best three weeks this year was 391.  The drop of 21% has many factors including the factor of those who have already opted to move as a result of reconfiguration.

Finance Report

                The parish finance council reported to the parish on October 22nd.  As can be seen in the table below the offertory was running significantly below budget and has now started to turn around.

Stewardship Committee

                The Stewardship Committee conducted a Stewardship Fair on Sunday November 7th.  Nearly two dozen poster displays showed vitality of the parish.

Thanksgiving

                The traditional gathering of food for Thanksgiving meals is ongoing.

St. Isidore will host the traditional interfaith service for Acton, Boxborough and Stow Nov 21st.

The parish celebration of Thanksgiving will be on the day itself.

Christmas / New Year’s

                These two days fall on a Saturday.  We will not have a 5:00 P.M. liturgy on those two Saturday afternoons.

Lessons and Carols

                Will be celebrated on Sunday December 12 at 5:00 p.m.

Generations of Faith

                Generations of Faith moving along well; next round is November 12 and 14.

Transition Committee

                Fr. Carreiro has designated a committee of people from St. Michael’s.  They will be meeting themselves on November 29th to catch up with what has transpired and the two committees will have the first formal meeting December 1st.
