PPC Elections

Mike Statkus presented a format for a Call for Candidates.  The format was well received with a few additional comments: e.g. value of adding an e-mail reference (ppc@stisidorestow.org)

Greatest obstacle in getting responses seems to be time commitment; thus the reference to the minimal time is good.  This format is to be used, with adaptations in the March newsletter, the weekly bulletin beginning Feb. 18th, the parish website and bulletin board posters.

Time line: April 15 identify candidates, display candidates with photos, May 19-20 election.  Inform candidates evening of May 20 of results and follow up with contact that they be affirmed in their willingness to serve.  Mike and Judy will supervise the count.

Archdiocesan Convocation Mar 10.

Encouraged that all attend.  Those who went last year spoke highly of it.  Form to be sent with these minutes for all to identify priorities among the focus sessions.  (Please return these within 24 hours as we face a deadline on registering.)

Theme for the 40th

After some discussion it was agreed:  St. Isidore Parish, Sowing the Word of God.

Activities for the 40th

The May 27th dedication will be directed by the Renovation Committee.

Suggested we might have a farm/garden on the property for volunteers to grow food that could be shared with the needy.  (John Slattery mentioned a parishioner who might be interested.)

Summer of 2001 Theology for a Summer’s Eve to be hosted by St. Isidore with support from the wider area.

Advent activities to be explored.

Parish Mission, 2002, might develop thoughts on Christ in the workplace.

Update from the pastor

Briefly touched on a dozen items.

New Business

Praise for the Ice Cream social; looking forward to the Irish Night.

Review of the meeting

Glad we settled on the theme; Seem to be making progress; Good to be specific; Hashed through a lot of things; Mike and Judy did well on getting the election started..

Next meetings:

Mar 8, *, May 10, Jun 14, 2001

*Thurs. Apr. 12 is Holy Thursday, thus no meeting.  Determine in March whether to reschedule or cancel.
