Update from the pastor

Extended list of sixteen items updated.

Discussion of small faith communities

            Following the plan discussed at the last meeting, the Lenten Renewal weekend will be March 15-16 with a speaker from St. Malachy’s at each of the liturgies and a team from St. Malachy’s at a plenary session 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. 

            Publicity discussed at some length.  Fr. Butler is already sketching out drafts for the three bulletin inserts; additional input welcome.

            Much discussion on having a point person, designated and trained.  We will be talking with the folks from St. Malachy’s on this.

Family Mass

            Discussed at some length without clear resolution.  Value seen in structure that is welcoming and supportive of young families but a difficulty arises when that value threatens to leave out others.  To be continued.

New Business

Need to continue outreach to the “inactives”, especially those who stepped out of the parish in the crisis of these past months.

            Noted that the “out of work” group has discontinued the Tuesday meetings;  referals will continue to the Friday meetings at St. Matthew’s

PS.  Archdiocesan Assembly of councils Saturday March 8 has been canceled.
