St. Isidore Parish Pastoral Council

April 18, 2007
(rescheduled from April 12, 2007)

Members attending: Fr. Dave, Sue Ormond, Carole Makary, Charlie Cornell, Bill Sullivan, Dave Goulet, Jeff LaPlante

Minutes

-          March ’07 minutes were not reviewed. Need to review March and April meeting minutes for next meeting.

-          PPC Nominations & Elections: Jeff is point person and notice will go into bulletin this weekend. Rose and Kim will assist.

  • Members are all asked to help identify and invite parishioners to volunteer to serve the parish.

  • Charlie will “dig up” the names of past members and past parishioners who ran but were not elected. PPC can review names to determine if someone from past might be interested in serving again.

  • Interested people can simply email their info to Jeff. They do not have to formally fill out the application, but do need to answer each question when they send info via email. Refer to documents on the website. Pictures after mass can be arranged too.

  • Suggestion to mention “call for candidates” at upcoming mass. Charlie to ask Nancy to include at the GOF sessions, April 27, 29; small notice with application at tables?; at check-in table?; Deacon, Fr. Dave or PPC Vice-Chair could say a quick word about serving on PPC?

Target dates for elections at mass: June 2, 3

After that the process is:

  1. Identify candidates. Since we have 4 places that we need to fill, we
    will need at least 7 candidates.

  2. Have them fill in the candidate profiles. Personal contact
    information is NOT published.

  3. Have them email me a photo or we can arrange to take on after mass at
    their convenience.

  4. Email info to me as people sign up and I will prepare the bulletin
    insert and the website page.

-         Bulletin: “Did you know” section of the bulletin began. The website has “Did you know” highlighted on home page with link to bulletin board system for online questions, answers, and general sharing of information. Also a suggestion that we might use a small section of the front of the bulletin for info or “What’s inside…” teaser so folks might open the bulletin and read it. Also, it was suggested to Fr. Dave that maybe he could pick a highlight(s) from the bulletin and announce at the end of mass.

-          Building/Grounds: Scott Drugotch is interested in being Chair of Building and Grounds Committee. David Goulet, Charlie and Fr. Dave will get in touch with Scott and set up a time to meet with him and explain role and responsibility. Also to share names of other people who expressed interest in being on the committee.

Parish Hall: It was shared that new groups wanting to use the hall will be asked for a $25 donation. For trash generating events, groups will be asked for $50. Suggestion was made to add a box for recyclable material in the hall and periodically bring to recycling containers in Stow.

-          Garden Committee: No new information.

Other Business:

- none.
