St. Isidore Parish Pastoral
Council
-
Ed R. gave an overview of what
we do.
- Charlie C. expanded definition
stating that our job is to “dream” – not to do.
We should dream what the parish should do and pray for the Holy
Spirit to guide us.
Building and Grounds Committee
-
Ed R. gave an
overview of this committee.
- Dave G. is happy with the 7-8
volunteers who make up this committee and will be looking to
“rejuvenate” it with more scheduled meetings.
St. Isidore Parish Photo Directory
-
Olan Mills will be
contacting St. Isidore’s secretary Lorraine C. to inform her
of additional dates they will be in the area in case there are more
families who would like to have their picture in our parish
directory but were unable to in October.
-
Lorraine is also looking into
whether parishioners can submit their own pictures.
Interfaith Thanksgiving Service
- Sunday, November
18, 2007 – 7PM – St. Matthew’s United Methodist
Church, 435 Central Street, Acton
-
Unfortunately, this year it is
on the same night as our GoF program.
- Charlie gave history of our
area’s Interfaith Thanksgiving Service (Acton, Boxborough,
Stow Clergy Assoc.)
-
celebrates differences in
faiths
- St. Isidore’s attendance
has been non-existent
-
Do we have a responsibility to
attend these services?
-
Should we focus on building
our own parish community before we push for this or will this help
to build our parish community?
Pastoral Planning Committee Report
- We were not able to
focus on this tonight due to a full night’s agenda, however
the following discussions resulted from talk regarding the
Interfaith Service
-
Ed R. gave an overview of what
this committee is.
-
What does this mean to our
parish? What is the future of our parish?
-
Who are we as a parish
community?
-
Are there things that are
currently being done to grow our parish community?
- We spoke briefly about the
Building God’s Kingdom Project through GoF.
-
Volunteer signups
received during the last GoF sessions that will allow parishioners
to take more ownership in their parish community.
-
Look into developing a Social
Committee for St. Isidore.
-
Please review and
be prepared to discuss this report at our next meeting.
