PPC Minutes from
01/10/2008.
Notes
-
December 13, 2007 PPC meeting
canceled due to weather.
-
Fr. Dave stated Parish Directory
Photos have gone to print, therefore, cannot accept any additional
photos.
-
Need to add additional note to
checklist for hall users – please check ovens to be sure they
are emptied!
-
Building and Grounds Committee
meeting soon. Dave Goulet spearheading
St. Isidore Parish Finance
Committee
-
Parish finances are looking
good, audit was just completed last week.
-
Looking for volunteers to count
collections after each mass.
-
Looking for more fundraising
events to plan for a “rainy day”.
-
It was suggested that rather
than simply fundraising in general, it may prove more favorable to
fundraise for a certain cause, event, item (example given is the
fundraising efforts for the church renovations).
-
Looking for about six new
members. Many members have lengthened their term to accommodate
small number in committee.
-
Annual Cardinal’s Appeal
has been moved up to avoid summer, therefore St. Isidore has moved
up Grand Annual Collection to February 3 to adjust as well.
Pastoral Planning Committee Report
-
Allows parish
committees to work together.
-
St. Isidore would need someone
outside of the parish to instrument this.
-
PPC gave the approval to Deacon
Charlie to move ahead with this request.
-
Deacon Charlie
will bring it to the attention of the St. Isidore staff to move
forward.
- Deacon Charlie
gave an overview of the five regions of the Archdiocese of Boston.
Stow is in the West Region – Vicariate I.
- For more
information on the regions, how they are divided up, overseeing
Bishop and map, go to http://www.rcab.org/Information/vicars.html .
- Ed R. suggested
that each PPC member take a few minutes before our next meeting to
email him our thoughts regarding “why there should be a St.
Isidore”. Things to consider:
-
What is the future of our
parish?
-
Who are we as a parish?
-
Are there things that are
currently being done to grow our parish community?
-
What is our pastoral vision?
-
an awareness of
what it takes to run a parish through the PPC
- Parishioners need to take
ownership – but what does this mean (keeping it canonically
and theologically correct)?
Meeting finished at
9:08 PM. Next meeting – February
14th @ 7:30 PM
Respectfully submitted,
Laureen DeBenedetto,
11/9/2007
