Notes

  • PPC Election in the spring. Start thinking of possible candidates.

St. Isidore Parish Finance Committee

  • Grand Annual Collection underway.

  • St. Isidore requested that Cardinal Appeal letters not go out until after our Parish Grand Annual collection, however, Archdiocese of Boston sent them out.
    • Announcements being made at masses that the Cardinal Appeal donations are not due until May, 2008. Parishioners should consider sending in the Parish Grand Annual donations first.

Pastoral Planning Committee

  • Allows parish committees to work together.

  • St. Isidore would need someone outside of the parish to instrument this.

    • Deacon Charlie brought this up at staff meeting and plans are moving forward to find an advisor.

  • We spoke briefly about clustering.
  • What are some gifts we have as a parish?
    • space available for community organizations
    • Generations of Faith Religious Education program
    • a rectory where multiple priests can reside
    • St. Vincent de Paul Society
    • feeling of ownership due to our smaller size vs. large mega churches
  • We need a “ground up” approach vs. waiting for the archdiocese
    • Programs need to come from the people of the parish
    • Social Committee formation urgent
    • GoF Building God’s Kingdom Project – Middle School dance very successful
      • provided opportunity for St. Isidore Parish and community to come together
    • tap into town programs to form sub-groups (ex. SAPN)

Our parish is not an organization. We are the body of Christ. This is where heaven touches earth! We need to be like Jesus and form relationships. We need to walk with each other and invite others to walk with us.....

Meeting finished at 9:12 PM. Next meeting – March 13th @ 7:30 PM

Respectfully submitted,

Laureen DeBenedetto, 02/26/2008
