Stewardship - We Need You!!
Each of us is called to be a good steward of the gifts God has given us. Amongst these are our time, talents, and treasure. We know how important the latter is right now with our Grand Annual Collection underway. There are boilers to repair, roof work to be done, and many other costly projects that are critical to our Church. But our time and talents are also critical to the wellbeing of our parish. Over 140 of your fellow parishioners are already involved in parish ministries but we need more. Each of us has been to a Mass where there were not enough Eucharistic Ministers, no Altar Servers, or no Lector. These situations are very visible. Less visible are the following:
- Lack of Building and Grounds people who could handle the minor maintenance work (cutting our maintenance costs) and arrange or review contracts with professionals for more serious repairs.
- Lack of a Youth Programs ministry to provide our parish youth with activities that go beyond those provided by their schools and sports programs.
- Lack of a Social Committee who would make sure we have one event each quarter that would improve our sense of community by bringing all of us together in a social setting.
There are also other items on our wish list like a Bereavement Committee to comfort those who have suffered a personal loss, a Welcoming Committee to reach out to people moving into our parish, and a Public Relations Committee who would publicize our activities inside and outside the parish.
These are not the only opportunities you might consider. Almost every parish ministry needs additional help. Below are most of the ministries at our Church. Are there any that interest you? Please contact Deacon Cornell (cac@stisidorestow.org), Fr. David Doucet (dadoucet@stisidorestow.org) or simply fill out this form and drop it in the weekly collection basket.
Thank you for your time and talents!
