Update from the pastor to parish pastoral council 8 May 2003
Finances
I will be reporting this weekend through the bulletin thanks for the response
given to the March 22nd/23rd report of the finance council (attached).
Office of Child Advocacy
The parish Child Abuse Prevention Team has begun the three hour training sessions;
still scheduled: Thurs May 15 at 7 p.m., Sun. Jun 1 at 12 n., & Tues
Jun 3 at 7 p.m.
AIM
Reports of the session on Liturgical Year and the Triduum have been good. Next
spring we will be hosting a program on Youth Ministry.
Parish Pastoral Council Election
Response has been slow; at the PPC tonight we might figure the strategy to
get the nominations moving.
First Eucharist
The sessions of May 3rd and 4th went well and the programs for next weekend
have been rehearsed well.
Confirmation
Set for May 17th..
May Procession
Typically done on the Saturday evening of the weekend before Memorial Day weekend;
this year confirmation is scheduled for that hour so we will move to Sun.
May 19th after the 10:30.
Vacation Bible School
Was planned for the week of July 14-18. Response was insufficient and thus
this year we will not have a VBS.
Appreciation Night
We have sent invitations to all for a cookout May 31st; if you hear of any
who are in ministry and who were not included in the mailing, let us know.
