Update from the pastor to parish pastoral council
14 April 2005
Reconfiguration
The Transition Committee has not met since February 2nd.
Sr. Janet Eisner SND called April 2nd indicating that the Archbishop
suggested that she meet with us. I discussed it briefly over the next 24hours and
responded via email inviting her to meet April 12th.
April 7th Bishop Lennon responded that it would be best for the
transiti0n committee to keep things on hold until Sr. Janet Eisner’s committee
met with us.
April 11th Sr. Janet Eisner’s secretary called: yes they would
meet with us, but not on the 12th; no date for the meeting as yet.
Today I spoke with Archbishop Séan, updated briefly the scene and thanked
him for suggesting that Sr. Janet meet with us.
Article in today’s Beacon Villager is about as clear a picture as I have.
Bottom line: I don’t know what is going to happen but I am pretty sure that
the time line we had talked of (closing Nov. 1st 2004 / later changed
to closing June 1st 2005) will not be realized.
My thanks for the patience of all.
Lent / Easter
The Triduum was well celebrated! Alleluia!
Generations of Faith
Generations of Faith continues well
Haiti
My thanks for all for so much support for the recent trip
to Haiti.
Death of Pope John Paul II
Our thanks to all for the outpouring of prayer and support in these past days. And
special thanks to Rosemary Bawn for the beautiful tapestry.
Conclave
Prayers of all are asked for the conclave electing a new
bishop of Rome.
Sunday evening all are invited to a special moment of prayer at
St. Elizabeth’s
Parish Pastoral Council Election
It would seem advisable to have an election for another round
of council members given that there is as yet no time table suggesting otherwise.
